Fireworks and your pet
Fireworks and your pet.
For some animals the sounds of fireworks and sudden loud explosive noises scare them and they can exhibit signs of fear such as; panting, trembling, cowering, hiding and seeking you, the owner. If your pets response is any of this on ANY level, accept they have a fear phobia to sound. (Research shows that just ONE event may have started this response)There is often no one action or item you can provide to help your pet cope with the situation, BUT there are a number of combinations of support that you can implement in your home to make this a less difficult time for your pet.
For maximum effect and to give your pet the greatest benefits put them in place as soon as possible – now, weeks in advance, give your pet time to prepare.

In animal welfare legislation there are 5 FIVE essential freedoms for animals we should try to provide for all animals. ONE of which is:-
* Freedom from fear and distress *
You may have tried some of the above and had varying levels of improvement (or none!). There is no quick solution to this type of phobia (normally behaviour signs have escalated over time) so your support for your pet should be ongoing and explore what YOUR PET NEEDS –
