Snowy’s story
Snowy is a really sweet, white rabbit, the kind a magician would pull out of a hat! He was referred to us with a very sore and poorly eye.
Antibiotics and painkillers were not helping because the eye condition was very painful and so Marie decided that really the best thing for Snowy was to have his eye removed surgically, leaving it wasn't an option.
Obviously this is a really big decision to make, surgery in rabbits is often tricky and can be dangerous, but after much deliberation Snowy’s owners decided to go ahead and have the eye removed.
The surgery went very well and everyone was happy with Snowy’s progress. He was a feisty little bunny and quite determined to make a full recovery, which we are pleased to confirm that he has!
He was soon eating, drinking and hopping about the ward and his owners had no problems with him when he got home, he really was much much happier without his painful eye. He would not have been able to see out of the eye while he was ill with it anyway, so loss of vision wasn't a worry for Snowy!
His hair has almost grown back over his missing eye now and you have to look quite hard to see that it’s not there!
A well deserved Braveheart this month to Snowy,
a magic little rabbit!!
