Below are questions and answers you may find helpful.

Q - I have an exotic animal. Are you able to treat it?
A - Yes! we have extensive facilities for all kinds of exotic pets, please telephone the surgery if you would like more information

Q - Is it easy to park?
A - We have 24 car parking spaces in front of the surgery. If you would like assistance with carrying your cat basket or heavy bags of food, we will be happy to help.

Q - How soon can I be seen?
A - We can usually offer same day appointments, please telephone the surgery to book.

Q- If my pet is admitted will I be able to visit him?
A - We encourage the owners of hospitalised pets to come and see them by prior appointment. It often makes the animal feel happier and can aid recovery. We like you to be as involved as possible in the ongoing care of your pet.

Q- How can I pay?
A - We accept all major credit and debit cards, cash and cheques with a guarantee card. Payment is required at the time of treatment.  If your pet is insured we ask that you claim the money back from your insurance company after settling our bill.

Q- If I am registered elsewhere can I use your practice?
A - We will be happy to see you and will ask for a history from your previous Veterinary Surgery. We are available for first and second opinion cases.

Q - Should I deflea my pet in winter?
A- Yes! Fleas are still around even in the coldest months, our central heating allows them to happily survive in our homes. Please contact the surgery for advice about flea control . Click here for further information 

Q - My pet is old. Should I keep up with his vaccinations?
A- definately! Older pets are actually much more susceptable to disease and need a little extra TLC in their autumn years. Please contact the surgery for advice about vaccination. Click here for further information

Q- Should I have my bitch speyed?
A - We advise that you spey your bitch at 6 months old to prevent disease later in life. Please click here for further information and here for a photographic guide through a bitch spey

Q - What happens after I have my pet put to sleep?
A - At Sandhole veterinary Centre we have a pet crematorium on site which performs only individual cremations. For more information please contact the surgery or click here.

Q - Does your practice do direct insurance claims?
A - Direct insurance claims are not usually agreed as practice policy, however in individual cases we may authorise them.
If you are insured and wanting to do a direct claim then please do not assume this will be ok, rather discuss it with your Veterinary Surgeon at the time of treatment.
