Rai Janz, B.Sc (Nutrition).,B.Vet.Med.,MRCVS

Rai Janz studied for a degree in Nutrition at the University of London before going on to the Royal Veterinary College, London, where he graduated in 1975, with a Distinction in Medicine.
In 1984 Rai and his wife, Liz, bought an existing Practice, whose main surgery was in Rochester. There was a branch surgery in a small, end of terrace house, in Birling Road, in Snodland. The surgery moved to Sandhole Farm in 1989 and then to the present site in October 2006, employing 5 veterinary surgeons.
Rai is interested in all aspects of veterinary medicine and surgery; his particular interests are preventative medicine, ultrasonography and orthopaedic surgery.
Ian Johnson BSc.BVetMed.CertVC. MRCVS

Ian completed a three year degree in Animal Science at the University of Nottingham, prior to attending the Royal Veterinary College in London. Ian has been working at the Sandhole Veterinary Centre since 1992 (initially as a veterinary assistant and nurse and now as a veterinary surgeon). Ian enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and has a special interest in cardiology.
Ian is a holder of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Certificate in Veterinary Cardiology and regularly sees and investigates heart disease in both dogs and cats. As well as seeing heart cases from Sandhole, he is also happy to see more complicated cases such as referrals from other veterinary practices. See our cardiology section for more details here.
Kate Everett B.Vet.Med.,MRCVS Cert. AVP

Kate was brought up in Norfolk and started working as a veterinary assistant at the age of 14. As well as looking after a menagerie of pets, including up to 40 Guinea Pigs, she spent time working in a number of rescue centres and zoos.
Kate travelled and worked with animals (including lions and tigers) in Australia in the year after school, before starting at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC)in London .At the RVC she took part in the exotics elective course and won an award for the presentation of her work on cystic ovarian disease in Guinea Pigs, from the British Veterinary Zoological Society.
Kate has been working in exotic practice since qualifying in 2004 and has developed a particular interest in tortoises and small mammals. Kate holds a Certificate of Advanced Veterinary Practice with modules in Zoological Medicine, reptiles, small mammals and exotic birds. She is now one of only 2 Veterinary Surgeons in the UK with this qualification.
Giulia Grenga BVet.Med MRCVS
Giulia qualified from The Royal Veterinary College, London. Growing up in Italy, Giulia has experienced two different worlds, but has chosen to settle and enjoy being a vet in the UK.
She is particularly interested small animal neurology and hopes to be able to pursue this field of interest during her veterinary career.
Giulia has worked in the townships of South Africa on a project highlighting the importance of parasite control which can pose a risk to human health. She found this incredibly rewarding and will be returning to volunteer her services there in a neutering clinic later this year
In her spare time you can find Giulia travelling, riding, drawing and playing volleyball.
Frances Punt MA.Vet MB MSc ( WAH ) MRCVS

Frances graduated from Cambridge Vet School. During her time there she did an exotic animal elective, an intercalated year in zoology and ran the veterinary zoological society.
Since graduation she has worked in small animal practice seeing exotic patients as well as cats and dogs.
Frances completed a Master's degree in Wild Animal Health in 2011 before joing this team at Sandhole.
Frances has always had a passion for all kinds of animals; keeping snakes, fish and invertibrates since childhood. She is particularly fascinated by reptiles and amphibians, adores her cats and loves riding in her spare time,
The practice also employs eight nurses, six receptionists, a facility manager and a practice manager.
