History of Sandhole Veterinary Centre

The original surgery was in Birling Road , Snodland. This was a two up, two down, end of terrace house. The surgery was open for less than an hour a day, Monday to Saturday.

The surgery moved to Sandhole Farm on October 30th, 1989 and became a full time surgery. It was manned by one vet, one nurse and one receptionist. In 10 years it had grown to three vets, four nurses and two receptionists and had outgrown the premises.

The site of Sandhole Farmshop was acquired and this marked a four year battle to get planning permission. This involved three applications, two planning appeals and the services of a planning consultant. At last we got permission.

The present Sandhole Veterinary Centre opened on October 9th 2006. There are now five veterinary surgeons, eight nurses, a Practice Manager, six receptionists and our crematorium manager.

This Practice has always treated dogs, cats and rabbits; in the last five years we have dealt with more and more exotic animals; these now account for 25-30% of our work.
